The second “Casa di Matteo” in Bacoli was inaugurated yesterday, Thursday 27 June, following the will of the parents of little Matteo, who passed away at just over a year of age following an incurable disease, in collaboration with the Association A Ruota Libera Onlus of Luca Trapanese, to further expand the work of caring for and welcoming children in foster care or abandoned with serious disabilities and serious pathologies, night and day, an activity that they have already been carrying out for two years at the first Casa di Matteo located in the Vomero district of Naples.
The ribbon cutting by the mother of little Matteo, surrounded by the love of her family and all those who contributed to the realization of this new and ambitious project. Following the Blessing by the Bishop of Pozzuoli Mons. Pascarella, the structure opened to a large, interested and very involved public, who were able to admire the splendid 700th century villa, nestled on the enchanting inlet of Bacoli, structured on two floors, granted on loan for use by the Pio Monte della Misericordia and completely renovated and furnished thanks to the generous contribution of the AVES Association and the Cannavaro-Ferrara Foundation, the support of the Enzo and Lia Giglio Foundation, the Organization Un Mondo di Solidarietà and the Association Dare Futuro Onlus.
Following, the press conference in the presence of the new Mayor of Bacoli Josi Della Ragione, Baron Pasca superintendent of Pio Monte della Misericordia, the President of A Ruota Libera Onlus Luca Trapanese, the former player Ciro Ferrara representing the Cannavaro-Ferrara Foundation, the President of the AVES Association Gianpiero Ialongo and Gabriella Giglio representing the Giglio Foundation. There was no lack of institutional support from the Ministry of Health which in a written note declared its "appreciation for this wonderful project and for the perseverance and passion in carrying it forward".

A “baptism of the sea” that has been able to blend in moments of emotion, emotion, commitment and solidarity supported by the volunteers and the guys from A Ruota Libera Onlus who took care of the catering and all the setups. The structure will be operational starting from September 2019 and will be able to host not only children between the ages of 4 and 16 affected by serious pathologies and disabilities outside the family that the Juvenile Court is unable to place in foster care or adoption, but also offer accommodation dedicated to families forced to stay away from home due to the long hospital therapies of the children being treated at our important health companies of Santobono, Policlinico and La Schiana. Furthermore, in a spirit of inclusion and sharing, the House will have a “Sea Playroom”, also open to external children, dedicated to numerous educational and rehabilitative activities such as speech therapy, psychomotor skills, dance therapy, with an area also dedicated to BES (Special Educational Needs) and a space reserved for gymnastic-motor activities. «The House still needs the support of many donors – explains Luigi Volpe, Matteo's father, to purchase household appliances, tools, dishes and household linen, computers and first aid supplies for the many children who will thus be able to feel the warmth of a real home.»

A team playing for life that of A Ruota Libera Onlus, which manages the two structures of the Casa di Matteo and other activities dedicated to social issues, which last night celebrated its work throughout the territory with the event "Musica in Circolo" at the Circolo Posillipo in Naples. "I am happy - says Luca Trapanese, President of the Association - for the support of our projects and this evening is a true hymn to joy."
