On the occasion of the celebrations for San Vito martyr, protector of Positano (Salerno), on Friday 14 June the Kantiere Kairòs brings its rock sounds and its songs steeped in Gospel to the newly created Piazza dei Racconti, for a concert that Don Giulio Caldiero dedicates to all young people. Parish priest at Santa Maria Assunta, who has just turned 76, the priest is a volcano of initiatives and is preparing to celebrate, at the end of the month, his priestly jubilee: 50 years of ordination. He decided to invite the Calabrian band "above all to involve the new generations - he underlines -. In our church there is an ancient relic of the young martyr San Vito, killed in Lucania on 15 June 303, kept in a recently restored bust of the Neapolitan school". Don Caldiero is keen to recall what is written in the preparatory document for the Synod of Bishops celebrated last year and dedicated to young people: "The Church itself is called to learn from young people: many young saints who continue to be a source of inspiration for everyone give a shining testimony to this". Therefore "we want to propose the young martyr as a model for our young people, at the same time stimulating the attention of adults towards them". On the eve of the feast of San Vito, therefore, on Friday evening the events of the "San Vito giovani" will conclude, which began on 7 June with the "Relay San Vito", pilgrimageof the venerated reliquary bust in the hamlets of Montepertuso and Nocelle and in the various pastoral areas of the parish. “On the 14th, at the end of the relay, the recitation of the rosary and the chaplet to the saint is scheduled for 19,30:21 p.m. in the church of the Mulini. A short procession will follow towards Piazza dei Racconti: upon arrival, celebration of the Mass with the participation of the polyphonic choirs,” the parish priest anticipates. At 5 p.m. the youth meeting will be opened by the Positano folk music group “Sonacore,” who will introduce the concert-testimony of the Kantiere Kairòs. “We are happy to land for the first time in one of the pearls of the Amalfi Coast and to perform on the stage set up in the suggestive Piazza dei Racconti,” comment the 8 members of the rock band.
