The Campi Flegrei Archaeological Park is hosting a long weekend with a Music Festival and several other events. On Friday, free admission will be available to the Flavian Amphitheater, Baia Castle, the Roman Baths, and Cumae, thanks to the #iovadoalmuseo initiative sponsored by the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities. At all park sites, with ticket offices, certified guides from the Campania Region will accompany visitors on a discovery of the Land of Myth. At Baia Castle-Campi Flegrei Archaeological Museum, from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., the initiative "Le isole si accendono" (The Islands Light Up), organized by the Kyme archaeological group, will take place: a journey of poetry, art, and music to learn about and share the philosophy of Mimmo Grasso. This will be followed by a tour of the Museum, where two exhibitions will be held: "The Pioneers of Underwater Archaeology," dedicated to major discoveries, and "The Visible, the Invisible, and the Sea," an exhibition featuring a series of previously unseen statues, including Zeus Enthroned. A double event will take place in Cumae: at 10 a.m., in the Sibyl's Cave, artist Rita Esposito will perform a performance inspired by the tale of the Cave of the Nymphs in the Odyssey, curated by Daniele Galdiero. She will weave threads of yarn into a metaphor for the relationship between life and death, using the medium of weaving. The artifacts will become part of the collective work "The River of Roses," installed for the occasion in the Cave, concluding the construction of the 33-meter net that served as the foundation and support for all the events held during the nine-month traveling and interactive artistic journey. At 5:30 pm, the Music Festival takes place: with Maestro Luigi Biondi and the vocal group DamMI il La sound project, you will embark on an exciting musical journey into the heart of myth. This evocative show, in collaboration with the Pozzuoli Jazz Festival, celebrates the arrival of summer, blending reality, legend, and enigma. On Saturday, at 11:30 am, in the captivating setting of Cumae, you can enjoy "Now," a dance performance by Laura Matano, presented by Art Garage for the Humanbodies program and Studio XL. The Kyme archaeological group has organized a walk in Cumae to discover the places described in Book VI of the Aeneid, accompanied by the Cumaean Sibyl and Virgil. The Misenum association will also take you on a tour of the Sacellum of the Augustales, the Dragonara Cave, and the Roman theater at 6:15 pm. On Sunday at 10:30 a.m., the Kyme Archaeological Group and Livio Buonanno's Reenactment Society project will take a journey through history to discover the gladiators at the Flavian Amphitheater. Finally, in Cumae, from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., to celebrate the UN's International Yoga Day, the Integral Yoga School of Naples, led by maestro Luigi Sansone, will hold yoga classes and create a performative dance-theater piece on the solar myth of Apollo and the Sibyl.
