The Music Festival at the Archaeological Park of Ercolano

On Friday, June 21, the Festa della Musica will explode everywhere: more than 10.000 events will take place in various public spaces, from museums to libraries, hospitals to parks, gardens to squares, prisons to archives, on the streets, in historic buildings, at airports, in music high schools and conservatories, as well as in Italian cultural institutes abroad. Over 45.000 artists will perform in every genre of music, in one great celebration that represents a true moment of sharing. The theme of the 2019 edition is "Music Outside the Center," meaning music seamlessly expanded from the city to the outskirts; diffused throughout the country. The Archaeological Park of Ercolano will participate in the Ministry of Cultural Heritage's initiative in a joint event with the Metropolitan City, the MAV, and the Municipality of Ercolano, featuring performances by the area's leading musical and dance artists. The archaeological site's locations, where music will take center stage, will include: the Casa dell'Albergo with piano music, the Casa dello Skeletro with vocal and piano performances, the Terme Maschili with strings and ensembles, the Sede degli Augustali with guitar music, the Arco Quadrifronte with piano duo and choir, the Casa del Bel Cortile with guitar performances, the Casa Sannitica with chamber music, and the Casa del Tramezzo di Legno with harp performances. "At the Herculaneum Archaeological Park, on Friday, June 21st," says Director Francesco Sirano. - there will be a real party with a riot of notes and performances by students from the musical and choreographic high schools of Naples and the province. Visitors to the Ercolano Archaeological Park, by paying for a ticket, will be able to access every performance that will take place inside the site.
