PLet's get ready for a really hot weekend. The subtropical anticyclone, affectionately called Scipione by us, has expanded across the country with the intent of offering us a really hot Saturday and Sunday. The team at www.iLMeteo.it reports that on Saturday, with the exception of the heat, there will be no particular elements to focus our attention on. Perhaps during the hottest hours there could be modest disturbances on the reliefs such as the North West Alps where isolated and brief showers could be recorded, even with a thunderstorm background. Some cumuliform cloudiness could also develop close to the Apennine ridge, especially that of the Center. For the rest, the heat will make the news, especially in the South and on the Major Islands where temperatures will approach 40 degrees, while they will undergo a drop in the Center (even 7°C compared to Friday). Temperatures up to 33°C in the North, with the exception of Trieste which will touch 36°C. There will be little news for Sunday, which will also be inflamed by a Scipione that will however begin to lose intensity. It will still be hot throughout the country. The possibility of some brief and sporadic refreshing thunderstorms close to the central-eastern Alps, especially those of Lombardy, Trentino Alto Adige and marginally on those of Veneto, is still a sign. During the hottest hours we will still find some irregular cloudiness on the Apennine ridges, especially in the Umbria, Marche and Abruzzo areas, but with a low risk of phenomena. The editorial staff of the website www.iLMeteo.it also reports that with the beginning of next week the Azores Anticyclone seems to return as the protagonist, even if we will remain in a rather hot context albeit with greater storm interference especially on the mountains. As a national preview, the editorial staff announces a new wave of African heat precisely with the beginning of the astronomical summer, that is, Friday 21 June, the day of the solstice.
