The theater in Rome, last November, was the catalyst for the meeting and current collaboration with actors Nadia Rinaldi and Antonello De Rosa. Following the Scena Teatro workshop at the Auditorium of the Salerno Social Center, scheduled for September 2-27, the pair will perform Giovanni Verga's "La Lupa" around the peninsula: a short story from the collection "Vita dei campi," set in a small Sicilian village. The Roman actress, at De Rosa's request, plays Gnà Pina, nicknamed "la Lupa" by the community for her demeanor and highly sensual physique. The first act, however, will come to life in the actor and theater director's hometown on Saturday, September 28th at 21 p.m. "You need depth and a great soul," says Nadia Rinaldi, "for what Antonello can do. I can describe him with these words. Then, I also met a very profound, very ironic person, and these are all things that distinguish him. The internship and the academy? The idea came up during the previous meeting in March in Salerno, during the very touching internship held with Antonello's academy, and in five hours we brought out some remarkable emotions. Why La Lupa? Because I'm recognized as a comic actress, but instead I've always loved several dramatic roles, especially in the theater, and in this light, I was attracted to Verga's La Lupa. Proietti, when I was twenty, told me that with the face I had, you had to wait, but beyond that, you needed a greater awareness of your own abilities and therefore a certain maturity. The meeting with Antonello, determined to take me to scene with “La Lupa”, made it possible – concludes the Roman actress – for all this to happen and surely those who follow us will be able to witness several twists and turns”.
