“We have been notified of the presence of a greenish stain in the stretch of sea in front of the Chiaia beach in Procida. We have alerted Arpac to assess the nature of the phenomenon. We cannot rule out a priori that it is a stain caused by slime but we need to identify precisely the reason for its appearance”. This is what regional councillor of the Greens Francesco Emilio Borrelli says. “For a week we have been receiving reports about the colour of the water in the stretches of sea in front of the islands and our coastlines. Unfortunately in many cases the pollution is caused by illegal discharges. We will continue to monitor our coasts with the utmost attention but we ask citizens to report the presence of illegal discharges to the Port Authority and the municipalities, whenever they manage to spot one”.
