“Several residents have reported to us the conditions of the mouth of the Savone torrent in Mondragone. The water at the mouth is putrid and the smell is nauseating. Along the bed of the torrent, among other things, waste has been dumped illegally, such as tires. The bad smell of the water also makes us think that the torrent is the recipient of some illegal discharges that end up polluting the water. At present, the Savone represents an ecological bomb and serious measures must be taken very quickly, taking into account that that water then ends up in the sea, also polluting the coast”. This is what the regional councilor of the Greens Francesco Emilio Borrelli and the provincial secretary of the Sole che Ride di Caserta Rita Martone say. “We have sent a report to Arpac, asking them to measure the pollution levels at the mouth of the Savone and to deduce the possible presence of illegal discharges. We have forwarded a note to the municipality of Mondragone, requesting a clean-up of the waste at the mouth as soon as possible”.
