Naples. A third person believed to be involved in the murder of Stefania Fragliasso, the 76-year-old woman found dead approximately three months ago in her home on Via Santa Lucia ai Filippini in the Gianturco neighborhood of Naples, has been arrested by the Carabinieri of Poggioreale as part of the investigation coordinated by the Prosecutor's Office (Prosecutor D'Angelo, Deputy Prosecutor Rosa Volpe). This person is Antonio Quirino, a Neapolitan, suspected of having been a member of the gang. He had already been interviewed during the initial phase of the investigation and was still under investigation until yesterday's breakthrough. At the conclusion of the validation hearing, the investigating judge issued a precautionary prison sentence against the suspect, believed to be the gang's ringleader, for robbery and aggravated homicide. According to an autopsy, the 76-year-old woman died of asphyxiation. The robbers, who had become her killers, covered her mouth with an item of underwear, causing her death. On May 22, the Carabinieri arrested two more people, a Romanian man and an Italian woman, also believed to be members of the gang. Investigators are now closing in on the remaining gang members. This morning, Quirino, assisted by lawyers Paolo Cerruti and Roberto Russo, appeared before the judges at the validation hearing. In recent weeks, Teresa Di Giorgio, a 44-year-old from Portici, and Costantin Marian, a 36-year-old Romanian who had been in Italy since 2000, had already been arrested. In Mrs. Fragliasso's home, the gang was searching for a missing safe, money, and valuables. The break-in was premeditated and violent. Stefanina was immobilized with her wrists and ankles tied, and her face was also covered with packing tape so she could not move or breathe.
