Naples. Late in the evening of June 27, 2019, at approximately 10:30 PM, two boys aged 14 and 15 fell off a cliff after walking on the approximately 10-meter-high wall surrounding the Lidl supermarket at Via Nazionale delle Puglie 282, Naples. The two teenagers, on a daredevil prank, climbed the wall and ran along it for several meters before losing their balance and falling down a 10-meter cliff.

The rescue operations were triggered by other kids who were on the scene, stopping a patrol car from the Poggioreale Police Station that was regularly providing service in the area. The two officers immediately tried to locate the kids, alerting the firefighters and 118, but unable to reach them due to the height, they spoke to the kids, making sure they were in good health and managing to establish telephone contact with one of the two, they assisted them until the firefighters intervened.

The recovery operations lasted about 2 hours, the firefighters of the Poggioreale command lowered themselves with the help of a crane and the steel rope and one at a time they recovered the boys. They were promptly visited by the 118 personnel, they reported various abrasions that will heal in a few days, once treated they were entrusted to their parents who in the meantime had arrived on site. Before leaving the two teenagers together with their parents thanked the police and the rescuers for the work done acknowledging the imprudence committed.
