He was accused of sexually assaulting two of his students, aged 15 and 16. The revolver he used was legally owned. On Wednesday, when the scandal that led to his house arrest broke, his colleagues collected signatures and wrote a letter praising the man's human and professional abilities. The tragedy occurred in the basement of the house in Quarto where Aurucchio, a mathematics teacher, lived with his wife and son. He also left a letter in which the professor attempted to explain, without rancor or resentment, what had recently happened at the school with the two students. This letter was seized by investigators.
