Naples. “A new suspicious spill has affected the waters in front of via Partenope, at the height of the former Bourbon pier, a short distance from the free beach. The water suddenly became cloudy and smelly, giving off a strong sewage stench. According to what we have been told by those who regularly frequent that stretch, it is not the first time that a problem of this kind has occurred. We have sent a note to Arpac asking for surveys to be carried out to determine the possible toxicity of the liquid spilled into the sea”. This is what regional councilor of the Greens Francesco Emilio Borrelli and municipal councilor of Sole che Ride Marco Gaudini said. “Unfortunately, the phenomenon of spills in the Gulf of Naples is becoming sadly habitual. This case comes a few days after a similar event that occurred inside the tourist port of Mergellina. In many cases these are illegal dumpings perpetrated by criminals who pour compounds into the sewers that should instead be disposed of according to the law."
