The new traffic plan for the Universiade went into effect this morning, and city traffic has come to a standstill. ANM buses are marked with the event's logo and can travel in dedicated lanes. But for everyone else who isn't using buses for the Universiade, hell has begun, including motorists. Traffic is concentrated on Via Acton, and despite the efforts of traffic police (280 are in operation), the enormous amount of traffic can't be managed. And the heat of recent days is literally driving Neapolitans in their cars crazy. Three weeks of intense suffering are therefore expected for all those who can't use the dedicated lanes.
