Naples. As part of the intensification of general prevention and economic control services in the region, with a particular focus on illegal commercial activity and public health protection, finance officers from the Naples Provincial Command discovered a fake dentist in the city who, without a university degree, was performing dental examinations at an office without any license to practice the profession. Specifically, Neapolitan finance officers, following an information-gathering investigation, caught a fake dentist performing an oral hygiene session on a Neapolitan patient, unaware that the person treating him was not a doctor. To the officers' surprise, the dentist was no stranger to inspections by the Guardia di Finanza, having already been discovered a few months ago operating from another illegal office and for this reason reported to the competent judicial authorities by the same officers. The perpetrator had merely moved his practice to another area of the city, thus continuing to operate illegally, charging significant fees for the services provided. Documentation showed that root canal treatment cost €100, while the installation of systems started at €500. Investigations are underway into the non-accounting documentation found inside the premises to reconstruct the turnover and the positive income elements evaded from taxes. Following the inspection, the premises used as the practice were seized, as well as the dental chair and accessories (known as the "dental chair"), as well as vials of medicines and painkillers. The fake dentist was reported to the competent judicial authorities for the crime of practicing medicine without authorization and for not having the required health permits.
