Naples. The Marinella park shanty town has finally been cleared out, but there were moments of tension yesterday with some of the homeless people who had set up a sort of shanty town in the camp. In fact, some of them set fire to the wooden planks that made up their homes and only the timely intervention of the firefighters prevented the flames from spreading. With the clearing out, it will finally be possible to clean up the area where all types of waste are found (and Asia has been charged with carrying it out in the next few days) and one of the largest drug dealing areas in the eastern area of Naples has been dismantled. Now the citizens, who have been protesting for years, hope that they can finally get their hands on the construction of the park that would represent the rebirth of the area from degradation and abandonment.
