World premiere, Marco Baliani brings the show to the Naples Theatre Festival Italia A wrong night, which goes on stage at 21.00 pm at the Teatro Nuovo directed by Maria Maglietta. After the success of the show Trench, Baliani continues to experiment with what he defines as a post-narration theater: a narration where the oral language of the story is no longer able to unfold in a linear progression, but shatters, produces verbal loops in which Time oscillates, without obligatory temporal connections. "How does the Absurd manifest itself? Are there signals that can raise the alarm before the terribleness of the case sets in motion and precipitates into events? Perhaps yes - writes Marco Baliani in the director's notes -, but they are hints, warnings that the soul does not grasp. Caught up as we are in the immanence of reality, those small, tiny alarm signals are neglected. And yet, that night, a night that only after everything has happened, we will call the wrong night, Tano, the man of our story, had sensed something". The show uses the sets and lights of Lucio Diana; the music is by Mirto Baliani, the production of Marche Teatro. Repeat on June 23 at 19.00:XNUMX pm.
The show is scheduled for 21.00 pm at the Sannazaro Theatre 4.48 Psychosis, the text written by Sarah Kane is proposed in the form of a symphony for solo voice, with musical arrangements, video, scenes and direction by Enrico Frattaroli, with Mariateresa Pascale, Patrizia Polia (soprano), Diego Procoli (piano) and music by Gustav Mahler and PJ Harvey. On stage, the protagonist is poetry itself, varied in the lyrical, narrative, dialogic and graphic forms of its writing, textually and scenically entrusted to the solo voice of Mariateresa Pascale. «Writing it killed me» Sarah Kane notes on the note attached to the copy of 4.48 Psychosis left to Mal Kenyon, his literary agent, on the day of his suicide. His last drama, perfected until the last moment of his life, is also his poetic testament. "Farewell! Farewell!" writes Mahler on the empty staves of the manuscript pages of the Adagissimo. Twenty-seven measures whose pianissimos lead the Ninth Symphony to the threshold of silence and which here harmonize with the most lyrical parts of the poem, while Rid Of Me, To Bring You My Love, The Slow Drug, PJ Harvey's compositions - contemporary with Sarah Kane's dramatic writing and with a decidedly rock flavour - support her harshest and most scathing invectives. Repeat Sunday 23 June at 19.00.
Continue to Made in Cloister SE, the review of Literature edited by Silvio Perrella, which at 19.00 pm sees guests Ewa Lipska, one of the greatest Polish poets, capable of crossing the present time with a disillusioned irony. A great friend of Wisława Szymborska, her verses contain questions like this: «I don't even know/ if it is history that created us/ or if we have created history. If we are only the echo/ of someone else's heart». She will be introduced by two of her faithful translators Marina Ciccarini and Marco Bruno. Followed by Devorah Major, the third Poet Laureate of San Francisco, a multifaceted artist who frequents several genres of writing. Her first Italian book, just published by Multimedia editions, is entitled With open arms, in it we encounter the paradoxical poverty of love that we need more and more. The artist will be accompanied by Gaspare Di Lieto on the piano.
In the Carriage Courtyard of the Royal Palace at 21.00 pm, the show debuts as part of the Observatory section Jenga – The Gravedigger's Last Move, a new dramaturgical work written by Alberto Mele and Marco Montecatino, also on stage with Pietro Tammaro, Chiara Vitiello, Marco Fandelli. The theatrical work, which in its title refers to the game of wooden bricks, all based on balance, tells the family story of Corrado, a newly unemployed man with Asperger's Syndrome and a passion for Wrestling: he and his half-sister Bianca receive an offer for the old family home from a transport company. For Bianca it is an opportunity to seize on the fly, which however clashes with the will of her brother, morbidly attached to that house and the memories it contains. Gianluca, Bianca's boyfriend - kept in the dark about his intentions - will be part, against his will, of the progressive collapse that will hit the Sarnataro family. The show produced by Teatro Serra uses costumes by Elena Soria; scenography by Florian Mayer; the light design is by Tommaso Vitiello, the sound design is by Gino Giovannelli.
At 22.30pm in the Romantic Garden of the Royal Palace, as part of the Dopofestival, continues the review Dramaturgy for cinema, curated by Roberto D'Avascio for Arci Movie, which offers the viewing of the film version of the Macbeth by Roman Polanski.
