PThe thirty-fourth edition of the Polla Folk Fest, which will be held on June 15 and 16, bears the signature of Gigi Di Luca. The initiative of the Municipality of Polla (Salerno), organized with the coordination of Polis and in collaboration with the Department of Tourism of the Campania Region directed by Corrado Matera, was born to recognize common roots of culture through the most representative musical instruments of the Vallo di Diano tradition and is the result of meticulous work of recovery of popular traditions to be protected.
“Popular culture, Folk”, explains Gigi Di Luca, “is a common good that must be preserved with intelligence and care. Starting from tradition, I created an artistic program that in two days would bring together different declinations of the popular world: from music to contamination, from theater to
experimentation, from children's games to itineraries in historical places, to popular dances. A long look but with a focus on the culture of Southern Italy".
The event funded by POC Campania 2014-2020 Action Line 2.4, has entered the qualifying events program of the Campania Region and makes use of the collaboration of artists from different regions of Italy and opens the doors of monuments and churches and brings folk dances and dances, theatrical performances and forgotten games to the square. The typical dishes of the Polle tradition, curated by ACAP operators and local associations, provide the backdrop to the music and entertainment festival.
