A journey into the past to relive the emotions of times gone by, revisiting the lyrics that shaped the history of the Gigli's music, recounting their anecdotes and curiosities. "Words and Music" will take place tomorrow, Tuesday, June 11th, in the picturesque Piazza Giordano Bruno. This initiative, curated by the Amiamola association, chaired by Maria Esposito, will revive the songs of the centuries-old tradition linked to San Paolino for the third consecutive year. Feliciano Natalizio, who also served as artistic director, selected the lyrics, which were performed by singers Tino Simonetti, Felice Parisi, and Raffaele Caccavale. "We're strengthening our connection with the city, but above all with our beloved festival, by bringing to the stage a musical cross-section that perfectly represents the folk side of the event," explains Maria Esposito. "Words and Music was born from the desire to pass on our past to new generations, starting with our musical origins, offering lyrics that retrace the historical memory of this extraordinary city. I thank everyone who made the event possible again this year, starting with entrepreneur Francesco Napolitano, who supported the costs."
“Memory, understood not only as a simple recollection, is the path to follow to continue to trace those paths that represent the identity of a people – adds Francesco Napolitano, official sponsor of the event – These initiatives that tell the creative part of our festival, that enhance its essence in a polite way, making known one of the most beautiful sides of the kermesse that deserve to be enhanced, are welcome”.
