Summer in Naples begins with a major new feature: the UniMusic festival, conceived by the Nuova Orchestra Scarlatti and organized in collaboration with the University of Naples and the Department of Culture and Tourism of the City of Naples.
The inaugural event is entrusted to the very young members of the Scarlatti Junior Orchestra who will hold a free symphonic concert on Saturday 22 June at 19.30:39 pm in the restored and beautiful Courtyard of the Statues of the 'Federico II' University in via Paladino, XNUMX.
The festival includes a rich calendar of events ranging from symphonic music to jazz, from Vivaldi to Piazzolla. The events will take place in fascinating locations that express the immeasurable historical and artistic heritage of Naples.
The Festival is conceived and created by Nuova Scarlatti, which relaunches its presence in the area for over twenty-five years with this festival, in this case in strong synergy with the University and the Municipality - Department of Culture and Tourism, which has entrusted the young people of Scarlatti Junior with the prologue of Summer in Naples 2019, an important edition of the event that this year celebrates its fortieth, in memory of the first edition conceived in 1979 by the now Mayor Valenzi, opening places of the city's heritage to a broad cultural program aimed at everyone.
So UniMusic is a Festival for everyone, open to all Neapolitans and to the many tourists, including foreigners, who have been crowding our city for months, for years now, even in the summer months.
The charm of the music will marry that of the locations: the Cortile del Maschio Angioino, the Cortile delle Statue in the heart of the university citadel which hosts the statues and busts of San Tommaso and Leopardi and other illustrious figures, the Church of SS. Marcellino and Festo, a precious treasure chest of Neapolitan Baroque but also the new Auditorium in San Giovanni a Teduccio in the futuristic university complex of Federico II.
The UniMusic Festival, which will take place between 22 June and 27 July 2019, is divided into a series of concert events alongside the Open Music and Music at the UNINA Museums sessions.
