"Mayor de Magistris continues to say that there is no waste emergency and that everything is fine in Naples. An attitude that contrasts with the scenes that are currently being experienced in the streets of Pianura, where an enraged crowd took to the streets and improvised roadblocks to force Asìa to intervene. Once again we are witnessing the false propaganda of a mayor incapable of managing an increasingly evident emergency that he wants to mask with events and parties in the city center. Just yesterday I sent a letter to the Prefect asking for the convening of a Table for order and security in anticipation of what could happen and has promptly happened in the streets of our Municipality."

These are the statements of the president of the IX Municipality Lorenzo Giannalavigna who commented on the roadblocks improvised by some citizens of Pianura exasperated by the lack of waste collection in the neighborhood. For several days the Municipality has been urging the Asìa inspectors and territorial managers, without obtaining any significant response. The harsh gesture made by the citizens follows the burning of some dumpsters that occurred in the last few hours in the territory of Soccavo.

"We will wait for the police together with the citizens - Giannalavigna continues - and we will immediately forward the phone numbers of the territorial managers of Asìa to the police. We will see if those responsible for this disaster will also make promises after promises to the police. The Municipality - continues the president of the parliament - cannot but side with the citizens exasperated by the lies of the Municipality of Naples. Our territory is not willing to become the city's garbage dump and if we do not intervene immediately to stem this problem we can only expect further forms of protest from the residents of Pianura and Soccavo".
