"We are delighted with the reopening of the Galleria Principe di Napoli. We've been asking for this to happen for some time. Now, finally, the tunnel has been returned to the city. The reopening took place following safety measures that involved removing unsafe sections and installing nylon netting. It's obvious that this solution must be temporary. As announced by the administration, a full-scale redevelopment is needed to eliminate the tunnel's structural issues." These are the words of regional councilor Francesco Emilio Borrelli of the Green Party and Marco Gaudini of the Sole che Ride party. "Now we also need to work on the decor of the colonnade overlooking the Piazza Museo opening." "The colonnade," explains Nando Cirella, a representative of the area's merchants, "is falling prey to decay at night due to the presence of people camping, relieving themselves, or consuming food right in front of the entrance to the National Archaeological Museum. Different solutions must be found for these people. It's unacceptable that anyone should be allowed to reduce an area that thousands of tourists and Neapolitans pass through every day to a souk."
