SThe press conference held in the council chamber of the Municipality of San Giorgio a Cremano by councilors Giuseppe Farina, Fortuna Criscuolo and Gaetano Arpaia ended shortly after 14:00 pm. The conference also saw the presence of the resigning councilors Maria Elena Sassone and Luigi Goffredi, all of whom have joined the new political entity called “Orgoglio Campano”.
United by the desire to make themselves useful to the community, they "dumped" the mayor given the current quagmire that had arisen in the municipal council of San Giorgio a Cremano. In fact, the mayor no longer enjoys a majority, but his small council is still standing only thanks to the votes of the former Forza Italia member Ciro Di Giacomo.
Numerous topics have inflamed the discussions: Social Services, children, city services, urban decorum, traffic police absent on weekends, amnesties, work for young people. Points that were present in the pre-election program but strongly disregarded by the Mayor's policies. Councilor Giuseppe Farina focused his speech on the need to immediately discontinue this unfortunate council that has caused so much damage to the citizens such as the depopulation of the city of San Giorgio a Cremano which has fallen to around 45 thousand inhabitants with an average age of 44 years. On the problem that with this administration the differentiated waste has been reduced and the houses have reduced their value by 30%.
Therefore, discontinuity is necessary, as reiterated loudly by the lawyer Sassone and Dr. Goffredi, arguing that it was not possible to continue to be in a council that did not allow you to do anything for the citizens. "If I am part of a council but I cannot help a citizen because I am prevented from doing so, what am I doing in the council?" Goffredi said.
The mayor's management, balanced between inertia and unshared choices, has responsibly led the lawyer Sassone and Dr. Goffredi to courageously leave the council, taking on the responsibility of loudly contesting the actions of a mayor who is now attacked by everyone and defended only by those who with extreme force try to defend only the seat they have won, even by selling out their own electorate.
