Ssuccess for the Giannone classical high school in Benevento. Elena Pizzi Romano, of class II F, was awarded at the “Strega Giovani” for her review of the novel “Fedeltà” by Marco Missiroli, proclaimed winner of the prize, whose goal is to spread contemporary Italian fiction to young adult audiences, recognizing and emphasizing their autonomy of judgment. At the proclamation ceremony held yesterday in Montecitorio, in the Sala della Regina, in place of Elena Pizzi Romano and Professor Paola Bagnoli, head of the project, Professor Massimiliano Calabrese represented the “Giannone” together with students Rachele Catalano and Marianna Iacono. Every year a jury composed of 400 students from 60 secondary schools chooses a winner from the dozen selected for the Strega Prize. Since 2016, a recognition has been introduced for reviews written by students. Among the top three was Elena Pizzi Romano, a model high school student, a lover of reading and a budding poet who participated in the project “The Wings of Reading” (The Strega Youth Prize).
