La progettualità della “Casa di Matteo” parte a Napoli nel 2016 per volontà dei genitori del piccolo Matteo che, dopo aver perso il figlio adottivo dopo poco più di un anno di vita a causa di un male incurabile, decidono di aiutare i tanti bambini lasciati soli in ospedale a lottare per la sopravvivenza, fondando così – in collaborazione con l’Associazione A Ruota Libera Onlus di Luca Trapanese – la prima Casa di Matteo nel quartiere Vomero di Napoli, che attualmente ospita ed accudisce notte e giorno 6 bambini in stato di affido o abbandono con gravi disabilità e serie patologie.
Unfortunately, there are many children left to medical care alone, longing for the affection of a family and the warmth of a hug during illness, so the Casa di Matteo is opening its arms of welcome even more through a new challenge, obtaining a free loan for use of an 700th century villa from the Pio Monte della Misericordia, located in the splendid inlet of Bacoli, completely renovated thanks to the generous contribution of the AVES Association, furnished thanks to the support of the Cannavaro-Ferrara Foundation, the Enzo and Lia Giglio Foundation and the Un Mondo di Solidarietà Organization.
This second structure, on two floors, will be a place of welcome for children aged 4 to 16 affected by serious pathologies and disabilities outside the family that the Juvenile Court is unable to place in foster care or adoption, but it will also be a host structure for entire families forced to stay away from home due to the long hospital therapies of children being treated at our important health companies of Santobono, Policlinico and La Schiana. The constant care of the tireless collaborators, combined with the hug therapy of the many volunteers, will also be able to extend to external children through the "Ludoteca del Mare", where numerous educational and rehabilitative activities will take place such as speech therapy, psychomotor skills, dance therapy, with an area also dedicated to BES (Special Educational Needs), a space reserved for gymnastic-motor activities and a small center for disabled adults.
The Press Conference is scheduled for 10.30:27 on June 37th in Via Miseno XNUMX/b, in the presence of the new Mayor of Bacoli Josi Della Ragione, the Bishop of Pozzuoli Mons. Gennaro Pascarella, Baron Sandro Pasca, Superintendent of the Pio Monte della Misericordia, the President of A Ruota Libera Onlus Luca Trapanese, the former footballer Ciro Ferrara representing the Cannavaro-Ferrara Foundation and representatives of the supporters of the project, to inaugurate the new challenge of the crazy love of the Casa di Matteo.
