IIn implementation of the Action Plan to combat waste fires signed on 19 November 2018 by the President of the Council of Ministers, the Ministers concerned and the President of the Campania Region, the Control Room chaired by the Person in Charge of combating the phenomenon of fires in the Campania region, has ordered inter-force operations for extraordinary control of the territory in the municipalities of Naples, Grumo Nevano, Qualiano, Casandrino, Pozzuoli. Twenty-one crews were in the field, for a total of seventy units belonging to the "Campania" Group of the Italian Army, the Carabinieri of Grumo Nevano and Qualiano, the State Police of the Giugliano Police Station, the Guardia di Finanza of Giugliano and Frattamaggiore, the ROAN of the Guardia di Finanza of Naples, the Metropolitan Police of Naples, the Local Police of Naples, Pozzuoli, Casandrino and Aversa.
Eight commercial and business activities were checked, six of which were seized. Twenty people were also identified (five reported to the judicial authorities, four administratively sanctioned and two irregular workers) and 19 vehicles were seized, including sixteen boats parked in a shipyard. In total, administrative sanctions of approximately twenty-one thousand euros were contested. The identification of the targets was also carried out thanks to the use of drones by the Campania Group of the Army. In particular, in the municipality of Qualiano an illegal shipyard in which irregular workers operated was seized. The owner was reported at liberty. In Naples and Aversa, two more body shops were seized, the owners were administratively fined and three vehicles were seized. In Casandrino, a shoe factory was seized and in Pozzuoli, a 600 mXNUMX area used as an illegal parking lot, while in Marcianise, an area was identified where several stolen car parts used as spare parts were stored, causing serious environmental damage.
