Din the early hours of the morning a large joint operation is underway between the State Police and the Carabinieri for illicit waste trafficking, illegal landfills and serious environmental damage. Over 100 men from the two forces are carrying out numerous seizures and searches, in the provinces of Latina, Rome, Frosinone and Naples, as part of the operation "Smokin' Fields", coordinated by the District Anti-Mafia Directorate of Rome. Two helicopters are also being used in the operation.
