A Gestour ferry, the Lady Carmela, operating on the Ischia-Pozzuoli route, ran aground while maneuvering to enter the port of Ischia, its barge hitting two floating docks. The vessel, with dozens of passengers aboard, ran aground in shallow water, and Coast Guard units intervened to secure the other moored vessels. No damage was reported to the vessel or to other vessels moored in the port. The ferry in question has been operating on the Ischia-Pozzuoli route for about a week. A tugboat is awaiting the arrival of the vessel to refloat it, while passengers are being taken ashore one by one on rubber dinghies.
