We've written about this issue repeatedly, but it seems to touch the hearts of only us and the unfortunate people who, once again, on a hot June afternoon, find themselves experiencing an emergency situation. But this time, the sight of hundreds of tourists left stranded by the Circumvesuviana train and abandoned to their fate is a disgrace we simply cannot accept. We're talking about tourism, everyone's talking about it, especially local and regional institutions, which, even daily, if necessary, reiterate the need to promote this resource for the country, and then we witness shocking scenes like those seen in Castellammare this morning. Those who made mistakes must pay, and especially those tourists left stranded without any guidance should be apologized for, along with compensation for the inconvenience they suffered. We hope that today's disruption will end for all those (tourists and locals) who use this means of transport, which could be a key means of connecting the Metropolitan City, yet is often in difficulty, causing mishaps and delays for all who use it. Throughout Europe, such a widespread means of communication could be an important economic resource, as well as a source of employment; here, we still need to figure out how to make it work.
