The NAPLES 2019 ambassadors will meet with youth from Campania's juvenile correctional facilities. On Monday, June 17th, at 10:00 a.m., Patrizio Oliva will be at the Nisida Penitentiary in Naples, while on Wednesday, June 19th, Massimiliano Rosolino will visit the Airola facility in the province of Benevento. The meetings, organized as part of the memorandum of understanding between the Universiade and the Campania Juvenile Justice Center, will be an opportunity for the champions to share their experiences and promote the values of sport as a means of redemption. "Sport is a school of life," emphasizes Patrizio Oliva. "The values taught by sport, such as respect for the rules, discipline, and respect for one's opponent, translate into civic duty, respect for the law, the environment, and others. It's important to support these young people and give them a new opportunity." "Sport is the tool for breaking down barriers and prejudices. I'm very pleased with this initiative; it will be a moment of constructive discussion. The hope is that these kids will find in sport a source of redemption and integration," explains Massimiliano Rosolino. The NAPLES 2019 Organizing Committee will also offer juvenile offenders the opportunity to participate, with their companions, in the Opening Ceremony of the Universiade on July 3rd at the San Paolo Stadium and to attend some competitions and training sessions at various sports facilities in the region where the competitions will be held from July 3rd to 14th.
