The Carabinieri of the Cavriago station, to whom a 74-year-old pensioner from Reggio Emilia filed a complaint, at the conclusion of targeted online investigations, have reported a 26-year-old from Arzano and a 34-year-old from Naples for conspiracy to defraud the Reggio Emilia Prosecutor's Office. The 29-year-old was found to be the author of the advertisement and the one who carried out the negotiation as well as the account holder where the money ended up, while the compliant 34-year-old was found to be the holder of the telephone number where the man carried out the sale negotiation. The investigations began following the complaint filed by a 74-year-old from Reggio Emilia who, while surfing the Internet, had purchased an engine for his Jaguar on an ad site. After starting the negotiation over the phone, he managed to conclude the purchase of the engine for a sum of 1.600 euros, which he paid as agreed on the Postepay indicated to him by the seller. However, the crediting of the amount was not accompanied by the delivery of the engine as the seller disappeared into thin air, duping the unfortunate man from Reggio. Realizing that he had been the victim of a scam, the man presented himself to the Carabinieri in Cavriago, formalizing the complaint for fraud. After a series of checks between the telephone number where the negotiation was initiated and the account where the money had been paid, the Carabinieri focused their investigative attention on today's suspects, against whom incontrovertible elements of responsibility were acquired in relation to the crime of fraud in competition for which the crime was alleged.
