Today, Friday, June 21, at 6:00 PM, the book presentation of "The Painter of Tindarìa," Vito Pinto's latest literary work, published by Neapolitan publisher Graus Edizioni, will take place in the Cava de' Tirreni Town Hall. The presentation will be attended by Vincenzo Servalli, Mayor of Cava de' Tirreni; Armando Lamberti, Councilor for Culture of Cava de' Tirreni; university professor Giuseppe Foscari; journalist Carolina Milite; and a reading by Eufemia Filoselli. Passion, culture, and tradition are the defining characteristics of "The Painter of Tindarìa," a work imbued with a simplicity that proudly displays itself in contrast to the daily complexity that expands day by day. Through the author's refined words, the reader finds themselves immersed in a pure dimension, yet surrounded by a sophisticated culture, typical of a Southern curiosity that is central to the novel. The book presents a Southern character, typical of the characters and events, which see a painter and a journalist as protagonists, intertwined in their daily lives and complicity of glances and smiles. Vito Pinto, a journalist, began his career as an editor of “L'Amico di Vietri”, a fortnightly publication to which Giuseppe Prezzolini also contributed, and as a correspondent for “Il Tempo” in Rome. He has collaborated with various national and local periodicals and has been the editor-in-chief of television stations and monthly and weekly newspapers. He has published numerous publications on ceramics and the region, including Racconti della Costa (2000) and Irene Kowaliska 1939 (2018). With Graus Editore he published Viaggio inverso (1st ed. June 2016, 2nd ed. May 2018), receiving the “Premio Napoli Cultural Classic 2016”. He also won the 1982 “Villa Romana” Minori International Journalism Award, the 2010 “Furore” Journalism Award, and the 2012 “Mari di Costa – Amalfiguida” Award. He is a scholar of ceramics, especially that of Vietri sul Mare, and is the author of several publications including Vietri ceramic iconographies (1986), Giovannino ceramista vietrese (1997), La ricerca della forma – Carmine Carrera (2002), Storia di un ceramista – Giuseppe Cassetta (2003). He is the creator and curator of the “Laboratorio di Idee & Emozioni” for a comparison of ceramics with other arts. He has curated numerous exhibitions in Italy and abroad.
