The renowned Piazza Salotto is packed with people. The Flaiano International Awards have reached their 46th edition and there is great anticipation for the award-winning guests of the cinema, theatre, radio and television sections. On stage, the journalist and Rai correspondent Maria Cuffaro is ready to interview and award the winners of the various sections of the award.
Founded in 1974 by Edoardo Tiboni, the Flaiano Awards, and specifically the Flaiano Prize for Cinematography, are a highly anticipated event during which each year a jury of industry experts honors the most illustrious figures in the entertainment world. This year's jury is composed of Giuliano Montaldo, Franco Mariotti, Valerio Caprara, Laura Delli Colli, and Enrico Vanzina. Among the evening's honorees were directors Stefania Capobianco and Francesco Gagliardi, who received the "Golden Pegasus, Special Presidential Award" for their film "Mò Vi Mento-Lira di Achille."
“The journey of Mò Vi Mento – Lira di Achille begins in my beloved homeland, Campania, which I have tried to showcase as best I can through a light-hearted and contemporary film, and ends in another wonderful region, Abruzzo,” says director Francesco Gagliardi, originally from the province of Salerno.
"Mò Vi Mento – Lira di Achille was a wonderful adventure that, after so many accolades, couldn't have ended in a better way." It's a double thrill for Campanian director Francesco Gagliardi, as Pescara becomes the symbol not only of a film that finds its perfect culmination with the prestigious Flaiano Award, but also the starting point of a new cinematic journey that will soon see him working with director Stefania Capobianco on her next film project. The new film the two directors are currently working on will be shot between Abruzzo and Tuscany and will feature nationally and internationally renowned actors, alongside whom they will have the opportunity to perform alongside Abruzzo native talents.
Among the evening's award winners were Piera Degli Esposti, Lillo, Jacopo Gassmann, Carla Signoris, Roberto Andò and Enrico Vanzina.
A great achievement for the two directors Gagliardi and Capobianco who will soon begin filming their next film.
