On Sunday, July 7th, Alessio Arena will perform with a trio on the enchanting terrace of the Nitsch Museum, located at Vico Lungo Pontecorvo 29/d, near Piazza Dante. Entrance is at 7:00 PM for a self-guided tour of the museum and a wine tasting at 7:30 PM.
Alessio Arena, for the occasion, will present his new album “Atacama!”, released in May 2019 for Apogeo Records. Accompanying him will be Arcangelo Michele Caso (cello and mandocello) and Michele Maione (percussions)
Singer-songwriter trained between Italy and Spain, Alessio Arena published his first three records in Barcelona (an EP and two albums) in which he proposes an original mix of languages and musical traditions. The same happens with his novels (four to date, the last published by Fandango) where an original and visionary writing adapts to plots and courageous characters. Alessio Arena's work is located halfway between the singer-songwriter and the most visceral world music. The young chansonnier from Rione Sanità paints in his work the invisible landscapes of a new Mediterranean songbook.
“Atacama!” was recorded between Santiago de Chile, Barcelona and Naples, Atacama! is the fourth album of the Neapolitan singer-songwriter, the most walking and wandering, imagined as the adventure of a return home. Alessio Arena duets with great international guests such as the Chilean Manuel García and the Colombian Marta Gómez, and entrusts the sound of these songs of poetic resistance and social denunciation to the talent of various arrangers. Exciting songs that make up the new landscape of a new songbook, a very personal and poignant flowery desert.
