“The number 10 shirt for James? The important thing is that it's the blue shirt, and then we'll see. There's a lot of anticipation and frenzy, but it takes time and patience”. This is what Carlo Ancelotti said in response to a question from a Napoli fan at the Dimaro training camp. The possible arrival of James Rodriguez was at the centre of most of the questions, with the blue fans asking the coach if the Colombian would play the same role as Bayern. “I don't know if he'll arrive, we hope so. I know him very well, he can play in any position in midfield”, he explains. Inevitable comparisons with other names linked to Napoli, such as Icardi and Lozano. “They're excellent players, but different. One is a finisher, the other is more of a modern striker. They are all interesting names, the problem is that not only Napoli but many other teams are interested in players of this level”. Asked if Verdi will go to Torino, Ancelotti replies: “I don’t know, for the moment he is training here and he is doing well. It is a situation that we will evaluate if the player is willing to go elsewhere”. “Mario Rui leaving? We have no intention of selling anyone, but if there is the desire on the part of someone to undertake other experiences I will take them into consideration”, declares Ancelotti instead regarding the Portuguese full-back. “We are looking for functional and motivated players, if Napoli is considered a priority then we make all the efforts, otherwise we look for something else”, explains the Azzurri coach. Asked about a possible Insigne-for-Icardi swap, Ancelotti has no doubts: “No, Insigne is the captain of Napoli and we are all happy that he is staying here!”. Finally, the fateful question: Scudetto or Champions League? “Well, yes, both”, concludes Ancelotti laughing.
