The production of buffalo milk, mozzarella and dairy products derived from the milking of 344 buffalo heads has been suspended following the health check carried out today by the Carabinieri NAS.
A livestock farm in the Province of Caserta, in fact, was subjected to sanitary seizure by the NAS of Caserta due to serious hygiene deficiencies and the presence of animals without ear tags.
The measure affected 344 buffalo heads and 2 cattle for a total value of over 1 million euros.
The owner, a 34-year-old from Caserta, was reported to the administrative and health authorities.
If the health checks (after all the checks and veterinary controls to determine the exact origin of the animals) reveal, as we hope, that the breeder can comply with our fair and careful health laws, then the animals can be released from seizure and used again for the production of the excellent Caserta dairy products.
