Ercolano. Like every summer, entire groups of young people gather on the pier of Molo Borbonico, where the hydrofoil to Capri docks twice a day, and spend their time diving and jumping off the pier. Although the Municipality of Ercolano has placed the appropriate restrictions and access to the pier is prohibited, except obviously when it is necessary to embark, the kids, aided by the recklessness of their young age, gather to dive. The jump is not difficult, however, the seabed is low and there are some rocks scattered around, hence the name “Antico Scoglio della Favorita” with which the elderly use to define the place. Today at 14:30 pm the dive went badly for a teenager of just 12 years old. During the race to dive, the boy was overcome at the last by the fear of diving and stopped suddenly, however, unfortunately for him, he slipped, falling and hitting his chest and forehead on the dock, his right cheekbone in particular, and then slipped into the water where it seems he hit his back perhaps on a rock and emerged in a state of shock. He was immediately recovered from the sea by friends present and brought to shore where he was promptly rescued by the staff of the Antico Bagno Favorita. Users of the lido in fact proceeded to call 118 while the boy was immediately assisted by Dr. Susy Guida, a surgeon who was on the beach with her children, who promptly intervened. Subsequently, the boy was secured to a stretcher by the 118 staff who arrived briefly on the scene and then transported to the nearby hospital. Also on site was a team from the Port Authority who took care of drawing up the report by listening to those present as well as the Carabinieri from the Ercolano branch who took care of clearing the dock and making the necessary surveys.
