The first hearing was held at the Santa Maria Capua Vetere court (CASERTA) in the trial against the former worker of the Donkor Malik Social Center, a Ghanaian man accused of embezzling part of the weekly shopping and clothing expenses from asylum seekers and refugees participating in the SPRAR (Spanish National Protection System) project. For these acts, the association's leaders fired and reported Malik, who in turn filed a complaint against the center, accusing its management of embezzling SPRAR funds, provided by the Ministry of the Interior. The former worker's complaint triggered an investigation by the Santa Maria Capua Vetere Public Prosecutor's Office, which investigated seven workers at the Social Center. At the hearing, the association was allowed to join the civil action, and its legal representative testified, confirming the charges against Donkor, who, he claimed, created "a climate of hazing" toward the SPRAR migrants. Several victims have also appeared in court.
