State Police arrested 30-year-old fugitive Daniele Pugliese in Trentola Ducenta, in the Caserta province. He was sentenced to five years and four months in prison for international drug trafficking. He was apprehended in 2015 at Fiumicino Airport, arriving from Ethiopia, and found in possession of the drug known as Khat (poor man's cocaine), which he was supposed to deliver to other couriers for shipment to Northern Europe to supply local Ethiopian communities. He was arrested the following year in London for the same reason. The investigation and trial revealed his frequent travels between Africa and Europe, particularly between Ethiopia, where he sourced Khat, and Italy, where he then delivered the drug to other couriers. Pugliese was tracked down by officers from the Aversa Police Station.
