Upon the recommendation of President Filippo Patroni Griffi, the Board of Directors of the Teatro Stabile di Napoli – Teatro Nazionale has unanimously appointed Roberto Andò as director, effective January 2020. After months of controversy and delays, the Palermo-born director and writer succeeds Luca De Fusco as director of the Teatro Mercadante in Naples.
The Chairman of the Board of Directors, Filippo Patroni Griffi, expresses on behalf of himself and the Board of Directors, "the warmest congratulations to Andò, an excellent figure from the Italian cultural scene who - he declares - will be able to continue and develop the excellent work outlined by De Fusco. The greatest thanks from all of us goes to Luca De Fusco for the great goals achieved in these eight years and we are certain that his activity will continue at the highest levels. I would like to thank the entire Board of Directors for the attention paid during a long investigation and the shareholders for having left the Board and the Directors free in their autonomy of choice".
