Ischia. As part of the ongoing controls on fishing for consumer protection coordinated by the Area Control Center for Fishing of the Maritime Directorate of Naples, the Coast Guard personnel - Sant'Angelo Beach Delegation seized over 40 kilograms of untraceable fish products. The product, mainly swordfish and red tuna, was found during a check at a restaurant inside a freezing cell and was found to be lacking all the documents necessary to trace the traceability of the product itself and required by the legislation to protect end consumers.
In addition to the seizure, the Coast Guard personnel proceeded to raise an administrative fine of 1500 Euro to the owner of the commercial establishment, as required by the sector legislation. The Coast Guard will continue to carry out control activities in the field of marine fishing and the marketing of fish products.
