“Everything can be obtained and everything can be bought through the judge of the court of Naples Alberto Capuano, who boasts real or presumed influence over numerous other magistrates of the court and the Court of Appeal of Naples and is ready to spend his relationships in exchange for cash donations and other benefits, even of a relatively modest economic amount, in addition to the aforementioned renovation work, intercontinental airline tickets and vacation packages to Colombia at discounted prices, free membership cards for beach resorts but also pastiere and bottles of wine, up to sums of money in cash". This is what the investigating judge of the court of Rome, Costantino De Robbio, wrote in a passage of the precautionary custody order carried out today by the Flying Squad of the police regarding an investigation into a case of Corruption and Camorra at the court of Naples and for which a judge from Ischia was directly involved. The investigating judge De Robbio then explains that "there is no matter in which the judge of the Court of Naples, Alberto Capuano, refused to enter or Corruption in which he showed, if not moral detachment, at least disinterest: any attempt to approach colleagues and clerks that was proposed to him found in him a ready and compliant support, whether it was the procedure for demolishing a humble artifact of a blacksmith or the acquittal of individuals accused of being part of organized crime and the release of their assets". In short, "Capuano made his technical expertise completely available to anyone who wanted it, offering to view trial files to suggest strategies, imposing the appointment of lawyers and contacting the magistrates assigned to the proceedings to convince them to decide not according to justice but for the pursuit of economic ends completely incompatible with the role held".
Within the "tribunal of Naples operates a group of individuals, including at least one judge of the court capable of influencing in various ways the outcome of important criminal trials pending in the trial phase or in the Court of Appeal". The Roman investigating judge Costantino De Robbio also writes - The investigators contest, to varying degrees, the crimes of illicit influence peddling, false pretences, attempted extortion, personal aiding and abetting, Corruption in the exercise of a function and Corruption in judicial documents. According to the judge of the Capital, this group also has the ability to "suspend criminal enforcement procedures and delay verifications of bankruptcy credits, cause the release of prisoners and the release of the assets of important members of organized crime to the point of extending its influence on the competition for the judiciary, the outcome of which was distorted in favor of a candidate, daughter of one of the members of the group of suspects".
