Associations, administrations, universities and research institutions are networking to make the Sarno River Park a stronghold of sustainable development, also with the launch of a River Contract. Sharing, awareness and co-responsibility of associations, the community and local institutions to strengthen the role of active and responsible citizenship in an integrative, complementary and synergic way, through the dissemination of knowledge of risks, monitoring of biodiversity and the river environment in the framework of citizen science. These are the main ingredients of the CuriAmo, ViviAmo, PartecipiAmo il Sarno Project supported by the CON IL SUD Foundation led by Legambiente.
Through actions on the territory, from educational workshops, to public meetings, thematic workshops, river bank and beach cleaning events, awareness-raising and environmental education activities for students, businesses, associations, institutions and citizens, environmental volunteer camps, the project aims to inform and raise awareness for a better awareness of the correct management of mountain, river and coastal territory. In particular, it is planned to intercept, as a priority, an important social component, the world of school, to make young people protagonists in the care of the Sarno Basin. Furthermore, participatory processes will be proposed in favor of citizens with the creation of Ecofeste in various locations of the Sarno Basin to spread, in a festive atmosphere, good practices aimed at combating environmental risks and making the various subjects of the territorial communities protagonists, with particular attention to the productive ones, already oriented towards the circular economy and more generally towards the green economy. There will also be scientific monitoring and citizen science, surveillance actions and the pilot proposal for the redevelopment of a stretch of the river.
The project will be presented as part of Festambiente Sarno which will take place on Saturday 6 July at 17,00:31 pm at the Gardens of Villa Lanzara, Via G. Lanzara, 2018 – Sarno (SA) with a workshop, tasting of typical products and music. On this occasion, Legambiente presents the data of the Goletta del Fiume Sarno XNUMX which highlights a picture of the Sarno river which continues to be in a state of great suffering caused by discharges of untreated urban and industrial wastewater, pollution from fertilizers and pesticides from agriculture and natural defenses reduced to a minimum.
