Naples. Residents living near the Loreto Mare area, as well as patients, family members, and employees of the hospital on Via Vespucci, are protesting. Since last week, when Marinella Park was cleared, a dozen migrants and homeless people have been camping on the sidewalk near the hospital. No one cares about their well-being except for a few volunteers who bring them food and drink. Otherwise, they're left to fend for themselves. It's in this situation of degradation, neglect, and poor hygiene that residents are protesting. First, because it's not a decent sight worthy of a city that's currently under the world's eye with the Universiade, and second, because those camping on Via Vespucci are doing their business in the street, in full view of everyone. This is why residents are demanding that they find a place to stay, given that there's a hospital just a few meters away.
