"The Greens' social pages continue to be a collector of reports about delays in waste collection in Naples and the province. Unfortunately, the problem is known and concerns the temporary blocking of the Stir which has caused delays in the delivery by the waste collection vehicles. From the reports that are reaching us, however, we have had the opportunity to note that this condition, aggravated by the concomitance of the Universiade, has unleashed the basest instincts of the uncivilized. The streets, in fact, are often and willingly invaded by cardboard boxes and bulky waste, which should be disposed of in another way, through separate collection and delivery to the removal service". This is stated by the Greens' regional councilor Francesco Emilio Borrelli and the spokesperson for Sole che Ride in Campania Vincenzo Peretti. "If the uncivilized abandon mattresses or furniture in the street this does nothing but worsen the situation. In such a situation, a much greater sense of responsibility would be needed on the part of citizens, while it should be noted that administrations must resolve the problem of delays as quickly as possible. In this regard, our activity of monitoring the problem and of encouraging institutional bodies to reach a conclusion to the state of distress continues without interruption".
