Naples. Yet another attack on a doctor and a nurse. It happened last night in the emergency room of the Ospedale del Mare. The victim was a 44-year-old man who arrived at the Ospedale del Mare emergency room reporting that he had been the victim of an assault. The man, as reported by the Nessuno Tocchi Ippocrate association, first underwent diagnostic tests and then a specialist examination that revealed no signs of trauma or pathology. He began threatening and verbally abusing hospital staff. Sensing that he would be released from the hospital, the 44-year-old erupted in a violent raid, throwing objects and hitting computers and equipment, demanding that the paramedics provide him with methadone. The attacker grabbed a doctor and was restrained by security guards until a State Police car arrived, which removed and identified the 44-year-old. Neapolitan trade unionist Giuseppe Alviti, leader of the association of private security guards, intervened and, pleased with his colleagues' actions, vocally requested the installation of a permanent State Police presence.
