Following restoration work carried out by the City of Naples, Villa Medusa was reopened in the presence of Mayor Luigi de Magistris, the President of the Municipality X, Diego Civitillo, and Councilors Alessandra Clemente and Carmine Piscopo. The villa is among the properties recognized by the Administration, and perceived by the citizens, as a Common Good. In compliance with and implementing this recognition, the Administration approved, with a Council Resolution, the Declaration of Civic Use of Villa Medusa, aimed at regulating the collective use of the property, ensuring its usability, inclusiveness, accessibility, the methods of carrying out activities, and the forms of self-governance of the community of residents. "The Declaration of Civic Use, also evaluated and approved by the Observatory for Common Goods," Councilors Clemente and Piscopo stated, "is the result of a long process of discussion and participation with the community of residents and with Municipality X. The recognized social value of the intergenerational and socio-inclusive aggregation activities that the community carries out within it led the Administration and the City Council to exclude the property from the decommissioning plan in 2013, to recover the resources already allocated to restore it and return it to collective public use. This," the two Councilors continued, "is another important step in affirming the social valorization of publicly owned assets."
