Naples. A roar greeted the athletes of the Argentine delegation as they entered the San Paolo Stadium during the parade during the opening ceremony of the 2019 Summer Universiade. The chant "Diego, Diego" was also sung from the stands, in honor of Diego Armando Maradona, who played for Napoli for seven seasons, winning two league titles, one Coppa Italia, and one UEFA Cup. Another roar erupted when one of the athletes showed the camera his Argentina number 10 jersey, which was promptly captured on camera and displayed on the new scoreboards installed inside the stadium for the never-forgotten Napoli striker Maradona. There was particular enthusiasm during the parades of Spain and Libya; some boos were heard during the parades of France and Germany. Finally, a roar erupted for a banner raised by the Uruguayan delegation: "Thank you, Napoli. Uruguay loves you."
