The original order registering the Olimpo investigation as suspects is missing from the trial records. This morning, the defendants Adolfo Greco, Michele Carolei, Raffaele Carolei, Umberto Cuomo, Luigi Di Martino, and Attilio Di Somma, who have chosen to be tried under the ordinary procedure, were heard. the trial has officially begun. A first hearing characterized by a heated debate, in the final stages, in the Giancarlo Siani room of the Torre Annunziata Court, between the defense and the public prosecutor Giuseppe Cimmarotta. The defense attorneys have asked that the investigators provide the wiretaps without redactions to exercise, without limitations, the right to defense of their clients. The request was made by the lawyer Francesco Romano who was also joined by the lawyers of Adolfo Greco, Professor Maiello and Stravino. Furthermore, the lawyer Romano also asked to make available to the parties the deeds of registration in the register of suspects without redactions and especially those completely missing from Tiap, the computerized processing system of procedural documents. The public prosecutor opposed arguing that the defense was "inviting him to commit a crime, or the production of documents that I cannot produce. It is an inducement to commit, albeit with kindness, a crime - said Cimmarotta - the crime of revealing official secrets". Greco Adolfo's defense also expressed its opinion on the issue. "We ask to know the act with which we were registered in the register of suspects - Maiello began - to make our assessments. Greco has the right to know if the conditions of inadmissibility for subsequent evidentiary acquisitions have matured. And if this means instigating the public prosecutor to commit a crime, I report myself for instigation of a crime with all the consequences that may derive from it also in terms of the credibility of a public subject. I shudder at certain statements. I report myself for instigation to reveal official secrets. Insisting on a request that integrates a right of defense, I do not understand why it can be considered an incrimination". Since only the act of extension of the investigations exists, the defense requests the act of April 24, 2013 with which the defendants were registered in the register of suspects without omissions because, as also supported by Greco's lawyers, "because starting from that date we can obtain useful elements to verify the legitimacy of the investigations. It is the date from which the term of the preliminary investigations begins to run; after two years, any further investigative activity is affected by invalidity". Furthermore, the defense lawyers have asked the prosecution to have the wiretaps, telephone and environmental, without omissions. The prosecutor has made it known that he will transfer to the court all the documents that the defense has requested, specifying that "the parts with omissions will remain omitted because they are subjects who have nothing to do with the ongoing trial".
