Human remains discovered in a stream in Benevento: it's a mystery

A completely casual discovery and the Carabinieri and firefighters have been busy for hours trying to explain why human bones, in particular a femur, were found on the bed of the Alente torrent, in Ponteladolfo. It was some hikers late yesterday afternoon who noticed those remains, which at first seemed to be those of animals. The coroner sent by the Benevento Public Prosecutor's Office has instead established that they are human bones that will have to be analyzed in order to obtain elements useful for the investigation. The hikers, who were bathing in the area yesterday afternoon, alerted the Carabinieri. The searches even further upstream from the area where the bones were found were suspended yesterday evening to resume with the help of the firefighters of the Benevento provincial command. The search area is very large and particularly inaccessible also due to the thick vegetation. In the meantime, the Carabinieri are examining the missing person reports from the last few months, but have not found any matches. At the moment, it is not excluded that those remains could belong to some illegal citizen.
