Delays in waste collection, residual piles remain in some areas of Naples and the province. Verdi: 'Dozens of reports'

“We continue to receive dozens of reports regarding the presence of waste in various points of Naples and the province. In the last few hours we have registered reports from Materdei, via Ponte della Maddalena, via Andrea D'Isernia, via Carlo de Marco, rampe Paggeria, via Gennaro Serra, via Cotugno, via De Nicola, via Stadera and from Melito. In the vast majority of cases, indeed almost all, we have found that these are illegal dumping of bulky or recyclable waste. In practice, uncivilized people are taking advantage of the critical issues related to collection to get rid of old furniture or mattresses. In many other cases, rather than take on the task of recyclable cardboard, they abandon it near the bins”. The complaint comes from the Green councilor Francesco Emilio Borrelli and the spokesperson for Sole che Ride in Campania Vincenzo Peretti. "We are absolutely on the side of the citizens who, in recent weeks, have had to deal with a situation of real hardship but we cannot justify in any case the acts of incivility. Our commitment in the institutional offices continues to eliminate the last piles of rubbish but we invite the citizens to adopt appropriate and respectful behaviours regarding the rules regarding the disposal of waste".
